Milking 2011 we will be on DHIR testing.
We take the kids at birth and bottle raise. Does colostrum is milked out and give directly to her kids. Does are milked 2x a day. We do not heat treat the milk feed back to the kids. See our page on colostrum about why. We drink the milk raw in the house and make raw milk cheese also.
Milking process is:
Dry wipe each teat with individual paper towel
Dip with a teat wash
Dry wipe each teat with individual paper towel
Strip 3 to 5 squirts in to strip cup or small container
Milk out completely
Finish with spraying Fight Back mastiis prevention spray
